Essay Prompt: Informing an adult about your high school struggles, accomplishments, & dreams.
During my high school experience I have encountered many difficult situations. It has not been easy, however there has been memories that I can never forget and moments that have motivated me to do more with myself. High school is really helping me take the steps needed to allow me happiness and success in my future. As I said before, happiness is apart of this experience although there are serious struggles.
In high school I have come to understand the consequences of procrastination. Every time I procrastinate it causes bad grades. This is because of lack of preparation. Also, procrastination causes stress. When unprepared and with a limited time, I have to rush and cram things into my schedule. A choice to do what I want and to do or what I needed to do, came in. Being unbalanced is scary and unsafe for my future. I needed ways to overcome the weakness in my academic life.
Despite the troubles and hardships I have made more than one accomplishment. I have figured out different techniques in order to see myself succeed. Working hard. Just recently I had got my first C on my physical science test. It made me happy to know I can get that grade in a subject that I have much trouble in. I have made friends with teachers and tutors and have put trust in what they teach me as far as information but also skills. I have also been able to create a dance club with students from my school, this helps me stay focused on my dreams and focal point of my future.
What I hope to accomplish from here on into my future is graduating with my high school diploma and an Associate's degree in Arts from Early College High School at LCCC. I hope to teach as a dance teacher. Expand my learning at a university, and use the knowledge I have learned from high school to be successful in college. Most importantly make the ones who care most about me proud. When I do I will thank everyone who has never let me give up.
In conclusion, a struggle such as procrastination has in some way help me grow. I have taken big steps toward a better standing for myself now and in the future. Going after things I love and will always cherish. I know I will make it through the ups and downs of high school. As I move forward towards my aspirations I come to understand myself more of a leader and less of a confused teenager. Joyfulness is a great aspect to the experience although difficult times may occur.

Cyber Bullying - STOP
Ever since the internet became a good use, students in many schools around the world have misused it. We face an issue in this century, an issue that moves teens to take tragic steps toward hurting themselves, others, or even committing suicide. This harassment and embarrassment through the internet involves rude, hurtful comments about the way people look, smell, speak and much more. This harmful action is known as cyber bullying. Why do people do this? I believe that the people who bully over the internet have a lack of security in themselves. Many have grown up in homes with no parents or parents that paid absolutely no attention to them. People like this are mentally/ emotionally unstable. Many times children can easily type something on the computer, but when it comes to confronting a person in front of their face, they back down. In schools, fighting, gossiping, and harassment can get one expelled. So instead of getting kicked out of school, kids think it is easier to "trash talk" over the internet where everyone else can see and laugh. They let themselves be entertained at the cruel words spread about one person. True or not, these comments should NOT be shared with the whole world. I have personally been cyber bullied myself, by a girl in my school. She did this to my friend as well. I have more kindness in my heart than to spread her name around the internet. I respect her even though she has brought me much heart ache. Actually, I truthfully feel so sorry for her. I wish she did not embarrass herself as much as she has. Now why did I not bully back? I am not weak. I have more strength. Never fight fire back. Just blow it out so to speak. If I seen someone allowing themselves to get bullied, I would speak up, which I have. Telling someone is always better than holding it in. I would know this... So speak up! Stay strong and stand tall! I am not alone. I never will be. For those who find bullying a hobby, think before you act! If people could just realize that everyone in some way is equal... Evey one will be much happier.Friday, February 1, 2013
What's yours, is yours
People in the world often touch, look at, or take items that do not belong to them. Many believe that taking others belongings is "okay" or justifiable. However they have absolutely no right, in my opinion. No doubt citizens of any family, organization, or community will fight for what is theirs. Sometimes people might have a "reason" for example people may steal money, maybe to feed their family. This is an example of someone taking money that does not belong to them probably because they need it. When we need something we have to work to get it. When we want something we should wait until our circumstances allow us to go get it. Everyone is responsible for their own belongings. I think of a movie, "the Little Mermaid", when the evil Ursaula stole Ariel's voice. How Ariel's friends and family fought to get her beautiful voice back to her. It is interesting because stealing might not only be objects but also emotions, talents and whatever else. I think people should always remember that what is theirs, is theirs. Work for what you deserve and you will receive it. Do not take away from anyone else.
